Dear SHE, on behalf of all the readers, public, families, friends and your well-wishers, we would like to discuss something about you and of course, your journey as well. This conversation will help readers to know more about you and your journey. Please give answers to the attached answers in brief.
So let’s start now…….

The Spirit Mania: Most welcome to The Spirit Mania. We heartily congratulate you for being an INFLUENTIAL WOMEN OF THE YEAR 2K20. It’s really a great achievement. First thing, we would like to know about your basic info as a person, daily life, career so far and anything you would like to share about you with your readers and your well-wishers and also with us.
Answer: I am the leading vegetarian Food Blogger from Kolkata, the ‘city of joy’.
Apart from my food blog, I pen my food posts on various local, national and international food groups and social media platforms, like – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Zomato.
I have been the official Food Blogger of many popular national and international food festivals and a Zomato Connoisseur since many years.
I also enjoy an extensive fan base as a Movie & TV Series Reviewer. I review both Indian and foreign movies and TV series.
Apart from this, I try to assist the underprivileged section of the society, specially children, and empower them to take efficient control of their lives through my foundation, Moonbeams Foundation.

The Spirit Mania: Please tell us something about your journey of becoming an author/blogger/teacher and other fields in which you are working? When you actually started your journey and how was the circumstance? Did any person or situation influenced you to become what you are today?
Answer: I have been raised up in a vegetarian foodie family, wherein we enjoyed all kinds of home cooking, from simple to complex, parceled popular food items from famous street vendors and street shops, every now and then and dined out in a South Indian restaurant or fine diner, at least once a month.
So, I have been exposed to all kinds of good vegetarian food since childhood and liked reading about the same, as and when I came across any food article in any newspaper or magazine. But a very small percentage of such articles used to be about vegetarian food. Also, till one and a half decade back, almost all the restaurants’ veg menu options were quite limited and similar. Further more, there was no concept of Jain food in the restaurant industry.
I wanted all this to change. So, around 2010, I started writing about my cookings on social media. I got good response. Thus, I started experimenting with my cooking and also started posting about street food and restaurant food.
During that time, since there was a dearth of such articles, I garnered good followership on social media.
Gradually, I started my own blog http://www.vegfoodandreviews.com and started getting tasting & review invites from home chefs and restaurants.
With time, I won few prizes for my blog. Some even termed me an influencer. Now, I am even called to sit on the jury panel of cooking competitions and restaurant awards.

The Spirit Mania: Please tell the readers something about your interest in the respective field. What is your message to those readers who are trying to do the best in your field?
Answer: First and foremost, I love all kinds of food and am always ready to learn about latest food innovations and adaptations. So, I constantly keep updating myself by reading books, browsing internet and even talking to people of different origins and culture.
My advice –
Do whatever you are doing, primarily for the love of food and not to prove anything to anyone.
Use your writing skills to connect willing diners to the available good food, rather than penning pages of venom about not so good food, or the food that you don’t understand.
Don’t write half baked articles or post more pics of yourself than the food!

The Spirit Mania: And yes, the most important thing we would like to hear from you is what is your message to those girls and women who are suffering from any problem in their journey to achieve something big? You have been their source of motivation, please convey your thoughts with them.
Answer: My message for everyone is –
The way to get ahead is to get started.
Once you have started on a path, walk towards it with all your dedication honesty and patience. And one day, that path will surely lead you to success!

The Spirit Mania: Being one of the Influential Women; what type of changes do you want in your society as well as with respect to women?
Answer: Their should be equal pay for both men and women.
All individuals should be free to marry whenever and whoever or even not marry at all. It must be a personal choice and not a pressurized one. As long as an individual is not doing anything amoral or criminal, the society should be fine with him/her.
Similarly, whether or not to have kids, or when to have them, should be totally the concerned parents’ decision, mostly that of the woman partner in question. Of course, keeping the population burst in mind, one should not opt for more than two, or even one kid.

Great! We have come to the end of our interview session.
